The People of Irwin Stone
Brian Kelly
Grandson of Jack T. Irwin, founder of Irwin Stone. Brian began his career with Irwin Stone in 1981 as a truck driver and yard worker. Brian is now co-owner of Irwin Stone and has managed our Frederick operation since its inception in 1999. He is very much a “hands on” manager and spends time at both the Rockville and Frederick yards, working closely with many of our largest customers. In addition, Brian has an exceptional knowledge of stone quarries across the country and can find any unique type of stone that we typically don’t carry in stock. If you’re looking for something “out of the ordinary,” Brian should be able to track it down for you.
Steve Kelly
Grandson of Jack T. Irwin, founder. Steve is also a co-owner of Irwin Stone. While in school, he began his career with Irwin Stone during the summers of 1972 through 1976 as a yard worker and truck driver. After obtaining undergraduate and graduate degrees in business, Steve pursued a corporate career path before returning to Irwin Stone in 1996. He spends a great deal of time working with custom builders and large projects. In addition, Steve works with the business-end of the company to ensure outstanding customer service and the smooth operation of both stone yards.
